The NWT government has extended the timeline of its NWT Indigenous Languages Action Plan to 2024-2025. The two year extension will allow the government to align the renewed plan including: revitalizing NWT's official languages and providing access to public services in NWT's Indigenous languages.

The NWT government through Environment and Natural Resources is projecting to collar 30 wolves this year. The project helps biologists track wolf numbers and migratory patterns in NWT. The project is expected to conclude in 2025.

The NWT government started piloting the Northern Studies 30, a grade 12 course with focus on land, governance, wellness and reconciliation. The curriculum covers topics including Indigenous history, sovereignty, mental health and addictions, cultural appropriation, missing and murdered peoples and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The course will be finalized by September 2023.

YWCA NWT launched the Welcome Home Campaign, a $250,000 campaign to raise funds to furnish the new 21-unit family housing building. The new housing will provide a home for individuals who experienced job loss, family violence, homelessness or are living in unsafe or unsuitable housing.
