Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Recreational or cultural centre. Tasks: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques. Keep logs and maintain records. Schedule activities. Instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts. Assist with coordination of recreational, sport and fitness events . Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs. Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities. Prepare reports. Understand principles of group dynamics. Leading/instructing groups. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Assemble supplies, sports and game equipment. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Supervision: More than 20 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development). CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child welfare check. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Personal suitability: Client focus.
