We presently have vacancies in Doaktown, Campbellton and Hampton, NB; additional vacancies will be filled as operational needs are identified.What you will doThe Department of Justice and Public Safety is seeking individuals to join the Conservation Enforcement team. In addition to a Natural Resources mandate, Conservation Officers possess a general Public Safety mandate and are expected to provide emergency response during public safety emergencies and assist police in supporting roles as required. They are responsible for the enforcement of various Provincial and Federal legislations including the Criminal Code of Canada. The successful candidates will be responsible for:carrying out enforcement/compliance patrolsconducting investigationsapprehending violatorsperforming searchescollecting and seizing evidencemanaging violation filesappearing as a Crown witness in any resulting court casesperforming other related duties as assignedWho you areConservation Officers in New Brunswick are dedicated public servants who demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting the province's citizens, natural resources, and communities. Conservation Officers exercise sound judgment, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to adapt to evolving situations while maintaining professionalism and integrity in challenging and dynamic environments.Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:Need to have:Diploma from a recognized forest resource or wildlife technical program or a Bachelor of Science in a natural resources related field;Successful completion of a recognized conservation enforcement programSuccessful candidates will be required to submit a CPIC and vulnerable sector check with fingerprints conducted by their local police department An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only.
