Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Wet/damp. In/on water. At heights. Noisy. Hot. Work setting: Room and board provided. Remote location. Outdoor centre. Camp. Recreational or cultural centre. Tasks: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques. Keep logs and maintain records. Schedule activities. Supervise staff. Train staff. Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs. Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities. Prepare reports. Understand principles of group dynamics. Leading/instructing groups. Leading/instructing individuals. Provide lifestyle awareness information. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Supervision: 16-20 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development). Wilderness First Aid Certificate. Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certificate. Lifesaving Bronze Cross. National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility.
