<p>Sales & Business Development Manager ? Injection Moulding (Canada Focus)<br>Location: Ontario, Canada (remote with regular plant visits)<br>Compensation: $150k?$180k CAD, + Managment Incentive Program Access</p> <p>You're a seasoned B2B sales hunter in plastics or engineered components. You know how to win complex programmes, not just take orders. And you're frustrated watching good capacity sit idle while management talks about diversification but never really does it.</p> <p>This role is for the person who wants to actually lead that shift.</p> <h3>The Opportunity</h3> <p>I'm retained by a North American injection moulding group with:</p> <ul><li>Multiple plants in North America (including a well-established Ontario facility)</li><li>Full capabilities: precision injection moulding, 2?shot, insert and overmoulding</li><li>Strong automotive history ? but a <em>strategic mandate</em> to grow non?automotive business in Canada</li></ul> <p>They've brought me back in specifically to find <strong>one key hire</strong> to:</p> <ul><li>Own business development for the Canadian moulding facility</li><li>Drive diversification into <strong>non?automotive</strong> sectors:<p></p><ul><li>Mining / oil & gas equipment (pumps, impellers, housings)</li><li>Renewable energy (solar, wind components, charging infrastructure)</li><li>Packaging & industrial products</li><li>Other Canadian OEMs who value a local, technically capable moulder</li></ul></li><li>Still leverage existing automotive experience where it makes sense, but <strong>not</strong> live and die by it</li></ul> <p>If you've ever thought, Give me solid engineering, decent pricing and the freedom to hunt, and I'll build you a book of business, this is built around that.</p> <h3>Why This Role Is Different</h3> <p><strong>1. Greenfield growth, not a maintenance role</strong><br>You're not inheriting a bloated, over?segmented territory where you fight internally for scraps. You'll be the <strong>go?to external sales lead for Canada</strong>, with real white space to attack.</p> <p><strong>2. Direct impact on plant survival and growth</strong><br>The Canadian plant is capable and underutilised. Senior leadership knows that <strong>new markets in Canada are critical</strong>. You're not nice to have ? you're central to the strategy. That means attention, support and urgency.</p> <p><strong>3. Backing of a serious owner</strong><br>The business is owned by an active investment group with a clear plan: stabilise, diversify, grow, then exit at a higher multiple. That means they are prepared to invest in:</p> <ul><li>Tooling transfers and launches</li><li>Capability where it helps win new markets</li><li>Proper commercial support rather than hand?to?mouth thinking</li></ul> <p><strong>4. Strong technical footing, not a jobbing moulder</strong><br>This isn't a 3?machine shop chasing 5,000?piece orders. </p> <ul><li>2?shot, insert, overmould</li><li>High?volume production</li><li>Tight tolerance, value?add work rather than pure shoot & ship</li></ul> <p>That gives you something meaningful to sell into demanding sectors.</p> <h3>What You'll Be Doing</h3> <ul><li><strong>Prospect and win new Canadian OEM / Tier business</strong><p></p><ul><li>Target non?automotive segments (mining, energy, packaging, industrial, etc.)</li><li>Break into accounts where local Canadian supply is a strategic advantage vs. US imports & tariffs</li></ul></li><li><strong>Leverage your existing network</strong><p></p><ul><li>Re?open doors where you've sold plastics or technical components before</li><li>Bring real, current relationships ? not just a 500?name Rolodex from 15 years ago</li></ul></li><li><strong>Convert idle capacity into revenue</strong><p></p><ul><li>Work with the plant team and internal sales/estimating resources</li><li>Drive RFQs that match the plant's tonnage and process strengths</li></ul></li><li><strong>Own the commercial story</strong><p></p><ul><li>Position local mould- Location Unknown
