Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Opticianry/ophthalmic dispensing optician. Tasks: Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses. Advise on use and care of contact lenses. Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses. Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit client. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Client focus. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Do you have the required certifications listed in the job posting?.
