_*Kerr Design Build*_ is an award-winning design-build firm, currently looking for a talented, motivated and creative _*Experienced Interior*__*Designer*_ with a passion for construction, design, and customer service, to work on a full-time basis. Work hours are flexible depending on the projects.

_*Description of Duties:*_
- Preparation of materials takeoffs for the projects
- Sample library maintenance and liaising with product reps to gain new products
- Participate in the selection of materials and generate floor plans, details and specifications
- Liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers to deliver design documentation
- Prepare Interior specification packages, design plans and material selections needed for construction
- Participate in the selection and presentation of fabrics, equipment (FF&E), colour palettes, and lighting
- Design and source furnishings/art and accessories and all interior finishings (flooring, plumbing, millwork)
- Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
- Liaise with the Design, Sales and Production departments, on a regular basis, to coordinate designs, strategize and build relationships with current and new suppliers
- Provide support to the Senior Designers as required
- Work with other departments to produce quality results, while delivering projects under budget and on time
_*Skills and requirements:*_
- A university degree, college diploma or Certificate in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the design/construction industry in Canada
- Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD & SketchUp
- Understanding of the BC Building Codes
- Functional knowledge of common computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Teamwork skills
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of materials, application of finishes and colours
- Ability to read, understand and translate technical drawings
- Ability to create millwork drawings
- Friendly and approachable personality
- Willing to learn and work cooperatively to achieve team goals
- Able to work independently and without supervision
- Strong time management skills
- Takes initiative and stays on task
- Must own a reliable vehicle and have a valid Canadian driver?s licence
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Excellent visual presentation skills
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects and a variety of tasks
