Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Commercial or in-house printers. In-house printing or binding. Tasks: Advise press crew on product specifications or material requirements . Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments. Prepare production schedules. Review job orders to determine production time, colour sequence and quantities required. Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity. Plan production methods. Estimate costs. Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples. Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console. Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run. Set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment. Type of press: Offset press. Equipment and machinery experience: Cloth printing machines, roller. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Accurate. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
