<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Summary</strong><br />The Machinist is responsible for the conversion of raw materials to a finished milled product while ensuring conformance to design specifications in an accurate and timely manner.</p><p><br /><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Produce machined components to specifications by studying sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information</li><li>Operate Horizontal Mill, Vertical Turret Lathe, Milling and/or Engine Lathe.</li><li>Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.</li><li>Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.</li><li>Review quality issues with quality assurance, manufacturing support, and engineering to resolve quality issues and take corrective actions as required.</li><li>Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work.</li><li>Measure, examine and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.</li><li>Successful complete Operation Safety Training of Powered Industrial Equipment Training Course</li><li>Significant overtime and weekend work required</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Considerable knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.</li><li>Considerable knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.</li><li>Ability to apply general rules to solve problems</li><li>Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8 hour shifts</li><li>Must be able lift up to 50 Lbs. on occasion</li><li>Basic computer skills</li><li>Excellent time management skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>High school or GED required</li><li>5+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Must be able to read, write and speak English</li></ul></div>Company Description<div>GCM provides extensive valve modifications, cleaning, coating, inspection and testing services.
