Responsibilities
Tasks
-
Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products
-
Operate gluing machines to glue pieces or wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces
-
Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products
-
Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
-
Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
-
Unpack goods received

Set up and adjust saw equipment
-
Saw, trim and plane rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes
-
Measure wood products to ensure conformance to specifications
-
Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations

Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length and width

Assist trucks and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles

Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings
-
Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels
