Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Work setting: Construction. Staff accommodation provided. Service. Repair. Maintenance. Commercial. Residential. Installation. Troubleshooting/diagnostic. Tasks: Install electrical controls and panel boxes. Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes. Professionalism in customer service. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Splice, join and connect wires. Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits. Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations. Troubleshoot and isolate faults. Install surface mount and/or overhead cables. Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems. Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures including swimming pools and hot tubs. Estimate costs and materials. Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures. Conduct preventive maintenance programs. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Commission systems and components. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Electrician Trade Certification. Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Personal suitability: Client focus. Excellent oral communication.
