Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Noisy. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Welding experience. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Verify and repair emission control systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate. Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T). Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Level five apprenticeship training. Diesel engine repair specialization: Fuel injection system. Exhaust system. Cooling system. Lubrication system. Engine control system. Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Installation and alignment of engines and machinery. Powered equipment repair specialization: Cable-operated working attachments. Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Compressors. Pumps. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions. Drive trains and final drives. Hydraulic transmissions. Power take-offs. Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering. Differentials. Brake system. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Willing to travel for extended periods.
