*Job Summary: *As a leadership position the Mental Health Services Director (MHSD), will report to the Managing Director (MD). The multi-faceted responsibilities includes: providing clinical duties through the assessment and provision of initial treatment services to participants of The Lighthouse Community Services (Shelter) and Supportive Housing Programs who are identifying issues related to mental health and/or addictions, as well as the managerial oversight of mental health community partners and onsite mental health workers.

*Responsibilities:*
*Managerial*
* Oversee the mental health system of care at The Lighthouse, ensuring the continuity of care within the community
* Assist in the development and monitoring of the mental health component of participant intake assessments
* Develop and structure formal partnerships with mental health organizations, including but not limited to, Catholic Family Services (CFS), Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital - Community Mental Health (OSMH CMH), Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Lakehead University, Waypoint for Mental Health, Enaahtig
* Training and support for The Lighthouse staff, including continuing in-house education on nonviolent communication, conflict de-escalation and resolution, self-care, and other mental health training as needed from time to time
* Development of mental health programs for participants in collaboration with onsite partners
* Identification of and remediation of mental health program and service delivery gaps
* Ensure strategic direction aligns with the vision and mission of The Lighthouse
*Clinical Duties *
* Provide an initial assessment of participants (youth and adults) who self-refer or are referred for consultation because of issues related to mental health and/or addiction and the development of a provisional treatment plan based on the assessment
* Consult with and refer to other mental health and addiction services in the community if an issue of risk have been identified during the assessment or in subsequent contacts (e.g. hospital ER, detox centre, physical acting out)
* Schedule a follow-up contact with the participant to review the assessment and treatment plan as part of the engagement process for subsequent work
* Refer participants to other services in the community for ongoing or longer-term work
* Refer participants to The Lighthouse Medical Clinic for medical intervention if needed
* Develop a plan for ongoing professional development and pursue training activities, including consultation and mentoring, as required by the regulatory body
* Provide services consistent with the standards of practice supported by the regulatory body and policies of The Lighthouse (e.g. record keeping, confidentiality)
* Liaise with staff of the Community Services or Supportive Housing programs as required in the interest of participant safety and overall coordination of treatment
* Collaborate with other community service providers to ensure participant integration
*Qualifications:*
* Post-secondary education at a Master?s degree level in a discipline that is regulated by statute (e.g. Social Worker, Nurse, Psychotherapist)
* Current registration with the regulatory body of the discipline
* Previous experience in management and coordination of mental health services
* Proven experience in leading and motivating a diverse team
* Working knowledge of the primary diagnostic categories of psychiatric problems as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)
