Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Confined spaces. Work setting: Various locations. Remote location. Tasks: Assist in environmental audits. Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging or underground mine survey programs. Conduct or direct surveys or survey programs. Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems. Perform physical and chemical laboratory tests. Supervise oil and gas well drilling, well completions and work-overs. Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections. Assist in hydrogeological field and laboratory studies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS). Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. MS Office. Field work location experience: On land. Technical experience: Mapping and surveying. Geological sampling analysis. Geochemical sampling analysis. Geotechnical studies. Area of work experience: Data interpretation and evaluation. Environmental monitoring. Field sampling and data acquisition. Geological mapping.
