We frequently interact with various groups within the bank, including Technology, Market Risk Control (MRC), Capital Market Risk Management (CMRM), Model Validation (MV), etc. We are looking for a strong candidate to join the group at manager level. The successful candidate will work primarily with the TRMD team within Model Development (MD) to help carry out model calibration, backtesting, ad hoc tests and develop new methodologies and models for the measurement of market risk, as well as maintaining and improving methodologies of existing models.Accountabilities Maintain the current market risk and capital modelsDevelop new modeling methodologies for measuring market risk (e.g. FRTB, VaR)Perform ongoing and/or ad-hoc testing and model calibrationsInteract with other business partners (e.g. Technology, MRC, CMRM, MV) to investigate and resolve modeling issuesCommunicate model risk and provide full transparency around the model assumptions and usage with various stakeholdersContribute to other one-time projects of the groupQualifications:Strong analytical background, e.g. PhD in physics, mathematics, engineering or Masters of Mathematical Finance with appropriate experienceStrong computational and programming knowledge (e.g. Python/C++/VBA)Solid understanding of fundamental concepts and technics in quantitative financeStrong interest in financial models and conceptsStrong written and verbal communication skills is a mustStrong team member with a focus on getting projects done effectively and efficientlyKnowledge of VaR models would be an assetWho We Are:TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
