*Overview*
Omineca Fabricating is looking for experienced and versatile Industrial Mechanics to join our field project team. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Journeyperson Millwright with at least 4 years of field work experience. Knowledgeable fourth year apprentices will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
*Description:*
A regular day in the life of a machinist at Omineca includes setting up, operating, and maintaining machine shop equipment, manufacturing and rebuilding hydraulic cylinder components, and machining precision parts to within tolerances of .001?/.01mm.
Machinists also need to be able to keep their work areas and equipment clean and tidy, regularly inspect and maintain their tools, measure and lay out work pieces, and fit and assemble machined components using hand and power tools.
The successful candidate would benefit from a solid understanding of advanced measuring techniques and will need to be able to read and interpret "napkin drawings", blueprints, charts, and tables. A strong foundation in mathematics will allow the candidate to determine dimensions and tolerances for quality assurance purposes.
*Duties*:
* Install and commission new sawmill equipment and machine centers
* Provide routine and regular preventative maintenance on industrial equipment
* Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems
* Practice safe rigging and slinging
* Weld and fabricate as needed
* Strong attention to details and precision work
* Work cooperatively with co-workers
* Work independently or with minimal supervision
* Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
* Follow all safe work practices and safe job procedures
*Job Requirements:*
* Certified Red Seal Millwright. 3rd and 4th year apprentices will be considered.
* Welding experience is strongly suggested
* Ability to travel to remote worksites
* Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record
* Demonstrated ability to work safely in high hazard environments for long shifts
* Demonstrated strong work ethic and dependability
* Strong interpersonal skills
