Stack Modular is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator with expertise in volumetric modular, off-site construction, and/or architectural design. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a pivotal role supporting multiple facets of our business, including Project Pursuits, Modular Project Design & Development, Stakeholder Education, Value Engineering, and early Project Life-Cycle support.
Reporting to our VP Preconstruction and supervised by our Preconstruction Manager, you will collaborate closely with internal and external project partners throughout the preconstruction phase. Responsibilities include leading RFP responses and developing budget estimates, assisting with preconstruction design, conducting cost research, and coordinating initial stages of modular project development.
In this role, you will engage directly with project owners, general contractors, design consultants, and our in-house design, manufacturing, and project management teams. Your primary focus will be on developing cost-effective modular designs and specifications that align with project goals and client requirements.
_*Roles and Responsibilities:*_
* *Collaborate on projects globally: *Business related travel for site-visits, client meetings, trade shows and possibly to Stack?s facilities abroad.
* *Cost Estimation:* Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular projects by analyzing blueprints and documents, calculating overall project budgets for materials, labor, and equipment.
* *Bid Preparation: *Develop and submit competitive bids by reviewing project plans and specifications, ensuring all documentation and cost breakdowns are accurate.
* *Preconstruction Coordination:* Assist in planning and coordinating preconstruction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure project readiness. Develop and enhance detailed modular project specifications, scope delineation, and scope of work documents.
* *Quantity Takeoffs: *Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for materials and components using both software and manual methods.
* *Vendor and Subcontractor Management: *Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors, evaluating and selecting them based on reliability and cost.
* *Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: *Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities, providing alternative solutions to optimize project costs.
* *Budget Development and Monitoring: *Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle and recommending corrective actions.
