*Oak Hill Ranch* is an accredited campus-based treatment facility with a designation in Intensive Treatment. With the support of Children and Family Services, family and other healthy support networks, we strive to create a therapeutic environment that assists in the young person?s growth and development. We offer services to youth between the ages of 9-16 years who present various behavioral and emotional challenges. Oak Hill Ranch is located ½ mile south of the town of Bon Accord (20 min. N of Edmonton).
Qualifications:
· Graduated from an accredited nursing program
· Current registration with the provincial licensing body in good standing
· Current CPR Certificate
· Valid driver?s license
· Police Security Clearance, Intervention Record Check and a driver?s abstract are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate
Client care:
· Complete assessments, interventions, and documentation in the event of injury or illness.
· Providing mental health support to youth when needed while considering diagnoses, development, and histories of behaviors.
· Working alongside the Administrative Assistant to coordinate and schedule appointments for the youth.
· Facilitating continuity of care for the youth following appointments in the community.
· Participating in interprofessional collaboration within the community and developing intervention plans in cooperation with community psychiatrist, pediatricians, and pharmacists while maintaining clear and effective communication.
· Providing education to youth regarding nutrition, medications, development, coping strategies as well as disease prevention, processes, and treatment.
Medication management:
· Providing Medication Administration Records to staff monthly for youth who are on scheduled and PRN medications.
· Understanding, facilitating, and evaluating medication changes.
· Working in collaboration with Child and Youth Care Workers, the pharmacy, and the prescribers to address needs holistically.
· Providing education to guardians, case workers and staff regarding medication changes, pharmacokinetics, side effects, and interactions.
· Providing education regarding use and administration of Over-the-Counter medication while considering interactions with scheduled medication and proper dose based on age.
Management of medical supplies on site:
· Evaluate and manage medical supplies on site (First aid kits, Burn kits, Naloxone, EpiPens, specialized medical supplies in nursing office)
