Obair Economic Society (OES) is seeking applicants to fill the Bookkeeper role at our Dawson Creek office!

*POSITION SUMMARY*
To provide sound administration and management of daily bookkeeping consistent with policies established by the Board. Design, implement and manage financial processes to promote the Obair Economic Society (OES) culture and vision.
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
· Ensures sound financial management and control, and consistency with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
· Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties such as:
o verifying and completing employee payroll records, journals, deduction, and other payroll related documentation;
o recording, posting, and processing accounts receivable/ payable, journal and ledger entries;
o preparing various accounting summaries, spreadsheets, lists and reports; preparing agency, client, and other invoices;
o reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and administering a petty or other cash fund and accounts.
o Compiling, preparing, and maintaining records, files and statistics on payroll and accounting records.
· Develop and prepare the annual consolidated and program budgets under the direction of the Executive Director. Advises the Executive Director of the Society?s financial status.
· Oversees and exercises control over the preparation of financial statements, estimates, summaries, financial analyses, reports, and accounting related processes. Analyses statements and cost control reports for expense or funding problems. Provides information and liaises with Society auditors.
· Proficiency in using QuickBooks.
· To perform other related duties as required.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
· Post-secondary education in accounting and/or bookkeeping. Three to five years of progressively more responsible financial planning and control, administrative management, purchasing.
· Experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated and in-depth working knowledge of non-profit community-based programs and services.
· Ability to foster positive working relationships.
· Strong understanding of the BC Society Act, Workers Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act and the BC Human Rights Code.
· Ability to function independently, and frequently under pressure, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
*Wage:* $30/Hour
*Position Type:* Part time, 20 ? 25 hours per week
