We are seeking a Pschoeducational Consultant to join our clinical services team. Benefits of working as a Psychoeducational Consultant with the Halton District School Board: <p>Direct opportunity to impact student wellbeing and academic success<p>Opportunity to work in a Board where collaboration, inclusion, and innovation are fostered<p>Professional Development / Mentorship<p>Opportunity to actively engage and learn collaboratively with peers<p>Participate in a variety of ongoing ad-hoc committees and teamsAreas of responsibility may include: <p>co-leading group services with a Child and Youth Counsellor or Social Worker<p>creating and delivering a group for students based on behavioural principles (habits for wellness), cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behaviour therapy <p>be able to deliver engaging professional development to various populations on executive functioning, wellness, and neurodiversity <p>theoretical understanding of theories of change, and motivational interviewing techniques<p>familiarity with structured brief interventions (e.g. brief digital interventions, CBT, DBT Skills, motivational interviewing)<p>deliver student focused coaching sessions (executive functioning)<p>complete psychological evaluations on students with complex neurodevelopmental profiles as part of a multidisciplinary team (scope school psychology) in the context of cultural sensitivity and anti-colonial practices<p>other duties as assigned by the Manager on call that falls within the scope of the work of the psychology role<p>provide culturally responsive and inclusive support to students and families <p>Maintain all CPO Standards <p>Provide service in accordance with the Canadian Code of Ethics<p>Qualifications: <p>The minimum education preferred for this position is eligibility for autonomous registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) as a Psychologist/Psychological Associate. Consideration for those with non-autonomous standing with CPO and/or registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) will be considered. Applicants must have experience working in a school board setting and bring a broad set of skills to address the diverse needs of students. Experience running groups successfully is required. Ability to use creative ways to engage students in the group process is important. A history of developing successful partnerships with students, families and school staff to support student wellbeing is required. Exemplary proficiency with google suite and record keeping processes required. Candidates must be able to work independently, but willing to seek consultation/advice from Manager(s) when needed.We
