*Position Summary*
The Labour Relations Specialist will be providing administrative support to the HRBP ? Federal and will be responsible for coordinating Human Resources and Labour Relations in the Federally regulated segments of McAsphalt Industries Limited. Supporting internal personnel through contract administration, pension plan maintenance and reporting, benefits coordination and communication, coordinating and tracking training, as well as payroll cycle and data management (pertaining to new hires, terminations and queries). Duties will also include HR reporting, engagement data analysis and general HR correspondence.
*Main Duties and Responsibilities*
* Serves as first point of contact for employees seeking assistance with employee relations matters.
* Partners with HRBP in special projects in all functional areas of HR including but not limited to recruitment, benefits, performance management, training, and employee relations
* Participating in the collective bargaining process, conducting research, drafting language proposals, participating in negotiations;
* Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive work culture.
* Provide labour relations input on organization-wide specific initiatives and projects;
* Take an active part in HR projects, such as job fairs, recruitments rounds, and more.
*Required Qualifications*
* College or University degree in Human Resources or Labour Relations
* Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills;
* Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
* Utmost confidentiality and professionalism required.
* Demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures, collective agreements and employment-related legislation (Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, etc)
* Demonstrated knowledge of working with labour unions an asset.
*Travel requirement*
About 10% throughout the year.
