Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated transfer machine. Broaching machine. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Computer-aided design (CAD). Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Accurate.
