*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Build upon existing human resource tools including job descriptions, competency profiles, forms and letters to improve efficiency and develop uniformity across the organization
* Communicate Corporate Human Resource Policies and Procedures across the organization and assist in implementation
* Support facility management team members and review and approve actions related to Human Resource Management
* Coordinate the resolution of specific policy related and procedural problems and inquiries
* Post job vacancies, interview job applicants, review application submissions, evaluate applicant skills and provide recommendations regarding applicant qualifications
* Maintain records concerning personnel-related data such as hires, promotions, performance appraisals
* Recommend, develop and maintain human resource, personnel, databases, software systems and manual filing systems
* Administer compensation, discretionary incentive program and performance management systems
* Evaluate company culture and provide recommendations for changes to accomplish company goals and objectives
* Monitor staff performance and attendance activities, investigate and understand causes of staff absences
* Liaise with payroll and benefits administrator regarding Maple Ridge and Edmonton payroll, RRSP and benefit administration
* Provide counsel and assistance regarding employee relations and organizational matters, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and termination procedures
* Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination
* Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
* Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems
* Coordinate Employment Equity initiatives and work with Corporate Human Resources Generalist to create annual report
* Monitor Short Term Disability leaves and work alongside Corporate HR regrading Long Term Disability leaves
* Work closely with the HR & EHS Manager regarding work related injuries and leaves
* Assist HR & EHS Manager to support EHS initiatives
* Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records.
* Perform additional duties as assigned
*Job Qualifications*
* College or university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field
* Working knowledge of MS Office, e-mail (Outlook), and internet applications
* Minimum 3 years of related work experience
* Knowledge of applicable legislation, including federal and provincial (AB and BC) regulations
* Knowledge of payroll an asset
* Working knowledge of dispute resolution processes and working experience
* Ability to effectively manage time and ability to shift focus as required
