Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Primary health care nurse/nursing and family practice nurse/nursing. Registered nursing, nursing administration, nursing research and clinical nursing, other. Practical nursing, vocational nursing and nursing assistants, other. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Aboriginal band council. Tasks: Engage in community program development. Participate in community needs assessment. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Deliver health education programs. Deliver immunization programs. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice. Provide nursing care. Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming. Conduct research. Perform administrative tasks. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work. First Aid Certificate. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by provincial authorities. Target audience: Aboriginal groups.
