Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Industrial. Tasks: Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system. Install supports, valves, piping and control systems. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system. Select type and size of pipe required. Test system for leaks using testing equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License. Steamfitter and Pipefitter Trade Certification. Steamfitter and Pipefitter Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Confined Space Entry Training. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Security and safety: Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
