Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Trans-border documentation. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Roll-off truck. Extended length tractor-trailer combination. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Security and safety: Valid passport. Bondable. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel cross-border. Willing to travel for extended periods.
