Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician. Provide nursing care. Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff. Perform administrative tasks. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Area of specialization: Geriatrics. Mental health. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Vulnerable sector check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
