In this role, you will : Act as Emergency Response Team Lead (ERT) providing coordination for the day-to-day delivery of emergency social services on site (coaching, feedback to responders and volunteers) Report regularly on-site activities and issues according to technical standards; Elaborate and regularly reviews the site safety and contingency plans, responsible for the health and safety of employees, volunteers, and clients Coordinate implementation and monitor the operations site capacity/needs according to the changing context (material, financial and human resources) Maintain communications with the local (national, community) authorities and stakeholders; represents the CRC with media and other organizations, as required Evaluates the delivery of services to people affected by the disaster and the efficiency of the volunteers after a response Participate, make recommendations and coordinate preparedness strategies and initiatives to strengthen community capacity ( training and community preparedness education) Participate in 24/7 response capacity and coordination of supplies (priority locations, seasonal and response shifts) maintain inventory make recommendations and requests. Working with the Provincial Manager EM, develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations and local EMOs, city, and communities, as well as other disaster services agencies. Coordinates and oversees the annual EM fundraising campaign in the area along with other related activities What we are looking for : Minimum qualifications for this job include completion of a post-secondary diploma in a relevant field Minimum three (3) years of job-related work experience, including managing disaster response, working with volunteers, some community engagement and government relationship development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including presentation skills Proven experience in fostering and maintaining positive external and internal partnerships and relationships Proven human resources and volunteer management skills Demonstrated skills in program planning and budgeting Ability to adapt and to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of cultural norms and practices Valid Standard/Emergency First Aid Certification or willingness to complete training Valid provincial driver's licence and satisfactory driver's abstract Fluency in Cree, Ojibway or a second language, an asset Working conditions : Work will be performed in a remote setting, as required Travel throughout the assigned geography will be required with occasional overnight travel May be required to work non-traditional hours, be on call and respond to emergency/disaster-related requests Eligibility to work in Canada: At this time, we welcome applications from candidates eligible to work in Canada.
