Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Millwork/pre-fab shopwork. Residential. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Working at heights training. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 5 years or more.- LocationYellowknife, NT
