Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. New grads welcome. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing in house laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
- Take and develop x-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor the recovery of patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures
- Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques, including blood work and urinalysis
- Ability to operate medical equipment such as x-ray machines
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
Requirements:
- Certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is highly desirable but not a requirement.
