<p>INDIGENOUS PROGRAMMING SUPPORT TEACHER (FAMILY OF SCHOOLS) <p>(1 POSITION) <p>FULL-TIME 100% TERM Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Indigenous Education the Indigenous Instructional Support Teacher will work with teachers, principals and vice-principals in a Family of Schools in the support of integrating Indigenous ways of doing, learning and being into the school experience.<p> The Indigenous Instructional support teacher will work with classroom teachers to establish a culture of learning where every Indigenous student feels they belong. Relationships, Curricula and Connection will be the basis for multidisciplinary/ project-based planning for Indigenous student learning.<p> The Indigenous programming Support Teacher will work collaboratively with the Divisional Families of Schools support team. <p>Start Date: September 3, 2024<p> Duties: Improve Indigenous students success with a focus on Mathematics and Literacy;<p> Increase Indigenous student engagement and empowerment in learning<p> Further develop and inspire Indigenous students to become questioners, critical thinkers, risk takers, reflectors, collaborators and problem solvers<p> Increase Indigenous student engagement and understanding of their own learning through on-going reflection,<p> Support teachers in helping Indigenous students become more independent and responsible for their own learning, <p> Assist teachers in developing a community of learners;<p> Facilitate planning and learning conversations with classroom teachers;<p> Support teachers with creating short, mid and long-term plans for learners using curriculum documents and data to plan project based learning opportunities in response to student needs;<p> Facilitate project-based and nature based inquiry, <p> Provide in-class modeling of effective strategies and programming, including the use of common resources;<p> Support teachers in the development of systems for monitoring of Indigenous student learning progress in maths, literacy and learning competencies in assigned classrooms;<p> Prepare and deliver informational presentations and facilitate program or learning workshops as required;<p> Prepare and submit reports as requested; <p>Qualifications: <p> Manitoba Teachers Certificate;<p> Classroom teaching minimum 5 years experience<p> Strong understanding and knowledge of elementary, junior high curricula, high school curricula and research proven instructional strategies; <p> Experience planning and facilitating project based/ multidisciplinary learning experiences<p> Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous students, family and community;<p> Knowledge of and demonstrated ability working with adult learners; strong inter-personal skills and problem-solving strategies;<p> Dedication to anti-racism, equity, and diversity<p> Proven commitment to Truth and Reconciliation<p> Proven ability to build collaborated cultures founded on integrity and collective purpose<p> Knowledge, experience and commitment in working with Indigenous students <p> Excellent organizational, interpersonal and facilitation skills<p> Knowledge and experience in mentor coaching adults<p> An understanding of The Land, The People, and The Stories would be an asset; <p> How to apply <p> Click the button "Apply Online" and log into your account.
