Northern Gateway Public Schools is inviting applications from accomplished, visionary leaders who are interested in joining Northern Gateway Public Schools in the following position: <p>Principal at Percy Baxter School <p>effective the 2024-2025 school year <p>Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, principals are members of a team of skilled, committed, talented and progressive educators in an environment of site-based decision making.<p>The Principalship to be filled, Percy Baxter School, is located in the town of Whitecourt, Alberta. The school is a middle school consisting of Grande 6 to 8 and has a student population of 376. Current staffing at the school includes 18 FTE teaching positions and 8 support staff positions.<p>The successful candidate will: have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate <p> have successful middle school teaching experience and middle school-based instructional leadership and administrative experience <p> work collegially and collaboratively with the Principal colleagues throughout the school jurisdiction<p> work with Central Administration, the school staff, students and the school council to support community engagement that will foster a collaborative school vision via the School Action Plan and school culture <p> support and cultivate teachers' application of the domains of the NGPS Quality Learning Environment (QLE)<p> based on Inclusive Education practices, demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on curriculum-instruction-assessment and the Teaching Quality Standard <p> demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on literacy and numeracy programming, support and intervention<p> be knowledgeable about First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures, and preferably have worked with First Nations and Metis students, elders and education partners <p> demonstrate a commitment to student achievement and success through a focus on the Collaborative Response (CR) process and organize and lead Collaborative Team Meetings (CTM) <p> have successful elementary/junior high school teaching experience and school-based leadership experience <p> work with school staff team to enhance staff wellness, and team development and spirit <p> demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and<p> have a related Master Degree or enrolled in, with a specified completion dateApplicants will be guided in their administrative role by the nine Competencies identified in the Alberta Education Leadership Quality Standard.
