Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Renovation. Willing to relocate. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Survey building locations and levels. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Working at heights training. Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear.
