The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience working with High School learners in a classroom teaching role. They will have strong classroom management skills, be an excellent communicator and have had recent trauma informed schools training. The successful applicant will be innovative, creative, and demonstrate understanding of the Redesigned BC Curriculum and diverse learning needs. They will continually strive to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment. A solid understanding of current assessment practices, and the redesigned K-12 Reporting Policy, would be an asset. This position is four (4) days per week teaching Careers 8, PE 10, and English 8 Teachers applying for this position must possess the following attributes: <p> Interest in working closely with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the community<p> Excellent classroom management and relationship building skills <p> Knowledge and recent successful experience with literacy and numeracy programs in multiage classrooms<p> Knowledge of current instructional practices and redesigned curriculum including inclusion models of support and differentiated teaching strategies<p> Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills<p> Proficiency and current use of technologies to enhance and personalize learning (GSuite)<p> Passion for working in rural schools and outdoor focused learning<p> Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible For more information, please contact Ron Sherman at ron.sherman@sd8.bc.caPlease ensure that all applicable documents are uploaded including a recent Teacher Report.
