The Architectural Technologist will report to the Vice President of Operations and working closely with the production and sales team. The Architectural Technologist role is accountable for: · Designing and developing new home models, modified standard models and multi-family sites. · Drawing rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations specification sheets, etc. · Designing house plans as specified on purchase agreements and associated addendums and/or change orders. · Analyzes building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs. · Secures engineered designs and quotes from various suppliers. · Ensures compliance with Alberta Building Code, City of Edmonton (and surrounding areas) Zoning Bylaws and the Architectural Guideline requirements for all subdivisions. · Interacts with sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure customer goals are achieved. · Coordinates inter-office project scheduling and forecasting. · Interacts with construction team, trades, suppliers, and production team to ensure smooth and timely outcomes. · Performs on-site inspection of new designs and incorporates improvements. · Remains current on code, bylaw, engineering, and industry changes by attending, industry seminars, information sessions and Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta courses. · Revising existing master plans and options. · Preparing applications for building/development permits. · Preparing architectural guideline applications and drawing design changes as needed. *Who you are:* · Customer service focused with the ability to creatively solve problems effectively. · Thorough understanding and working knowledge of residential construction. · Strong attention to detail and accuracy · CAD qualification and experience in SoftPlan or AutoCAD (Revit) · Working knowledge of the City of Edmonton Zoning By-Law and the Alberta Building Code. · Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. · Experienced in the City of Edmonton requirements for development and building permit submissions. · Possess an Architectural Technology or Technician Diploma with a minimum of 3 years industry experience. · Graduates from a recognized CAD Program will also be considered. · Self-motivated with ability to work well both in a team and independently. · Excellent communication skills ? both verbal and written _*Interested?
