*Job Description:*
The Fitter & Welder is responsible to produce fabricated assemblies from a variety of materials.
*Reporting to:* Advanced Manufacturing Supervisor
*Primary Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Review designs and prints to determine an optimal sequence of assembly and welding operations.
* Prepare all materials including grinding, beveling, de-scaling, and cleaning.
* Fit and secure all components to required accuracy.
* Weld all components together, ensuring correct amounts, and configuration of welds.
* Inspection, cleaning, and finish grinding of weld areas.
* Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Skills & Experience:*
* Proficiency with MIG welding steel and aluminum. TIG welding experience an asset.
* Plasma and Torch cutting.
* Use of a variety of machines such as saws, drill presses, and milling machines.
* Ability to safely use cranes and lift trucks.
* Experience with fabrications for Special Machine and Automation Frames, Enclosures and Guarding, Machine and Fixture Bases an asset.
* Excellent reading comprehension skills.
* Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Attention to detail, workmanship, and neatness.
* Ability to read blueprints and comprehend GD&T.
*Education:*
* Minimum High School diploma.
* Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
* CWB or other welding certifications or training an asset.
