Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Manager will lead a small but significant maintenance department responsible for overseeing maintenance of the unique Tower and Walkway, including managing all installation, repair, and upkeep of our company?s facilities. This is a working manager role where the incumbent balances administrative tasks and hands-on duties (approx. 50/50) including overseeing and coordinating sub-trades and contractors, championing our safety program, planning repair activities, overseeing maintenance of machinery, developing maintenance procedures, managing and supervising staff, and doing hands-on work as required, alongside the maintenance team. The incumbent will work with various internal and external vendors, clients, contractors and stakeholders and must have excellent communication and skills.
*KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES*
*Leadership*
· Lead a small team with hands-on day to day supervision, inclusive of employee training, performance management and development, recruitment support, scheduling, timesheet sign off, and day to day supervision.
· Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
*Administration and Coordination*
· Overseeing and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
· Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
· Assigning repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
· Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
· Overseeing equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary.
· Overseeing and liaising with on-site contractors, vendors and sub-trades; work with the Director of Operations to ensure contractor obligations and met and safety requirements are maintained at all times
· Scheduling appointments with vendors for major repairs
· Assist the Director of Operations with the planning, tracking and execution of capital projects.
*Maintenance*
· Overseeing maintenance and repairs of the Tower and Walkway
· Maintaining all machinery to ensure they are at working standards
· Creating and implement maintenance procedures
· Ongoing monitoring/maintenance of septic system
· Ongoing monitoring/maintenance of well, water processing and treatment
· Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
· Planning and manage all repair and installation activities
· Performing maintenance and repair duties as required
*General/Other*
· Acting as a point-person for the Operations department in the absence of the Director of Operations as directed
· Responding to after-hours calls as an emergency contact as and when required
· Providing event support as required
· Supporting, and assisting with, Cross Training between Departments
· Other general duties as required
*Qualifications*
· A minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance
· Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
· Working at Heights certification (can be obtained once hired)
· High school diploma or equivalent certification
· First Aid Trained-- OFA Level 1 or above is required (can be obtained once hired)
· WaterSafe or Level 1 EOCP an asset, (can be obtained once hired)
· S100/S185 training (can be obtained once hired)
· SPRAT/IRATA Training an asset
· Trade ticket an asset
· Valid BC driver?s license and clean abstract; Operating
