Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Air conditioned. Work setting: Child care centre. Before and after school programs. Day care centre or nursery school. Tasks: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers. Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Knowledge of licensing regulations. Establish guidelines for behaviour. Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children. Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate. CPR Certificate. Target audience: Children. Infant (3 months - 11 months). Security and safety: Criminal record check. Medical exam. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
