Job details
*ROLE*
Maintain all full-cycle financial records for the organization with high levels of accuracy, organization, efficiency, and attention to detail while utilizing Quickbooks, Simply Accounting or Xero and Microsoft Office, and the internet-based applications used in the operation of Firefly.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
* *Accounts Payable*: enter vendor invoice and credit card purchases and perform statement reconciliations, process and direct vendor invoices for payment, reviewing, entering, and processing payment of travel/expense claims
* *Accounts Receivable*: entering customer invoices, applying incoming receipts, and reconciliation of accounts.
* *Entering and Reconciling Adjusting General Ledger Entries*: Prepaid account balances and allocations, Fixed Assets and Depreciation Expenses, and Accrued Liabilities
* *Banking*: preparing bank deposits and taking to the bank, reconciliations of all bank accounts including investment accounts and interest earned
* *Payroll*: process payment and track all employee deductions-RRSP, health benefits, WCB, and prove the validity of year-end T4?s & summaries.
* \*\*Developing and transferring financial statements and records to company approved personnel upon request.
* *Government Reporting*: GST/HST monthly returns and annual WCB returns for various provinces of employee employment.
* *Audits*: assist and provide required backup documentation and explanations for annual and project audits
* *Audit*: main lead on field audit work
*Problem Solving*:
* Incorrectly reported vendor claims, follow up with vendor to resolve
* Staff payroll inquiries answered and if necessary for further action, resolved
* Expense reports reviewed and corrections made wherever necessary
* Ability to determine what to do with all incoming source documents, while following Firefly?s policies and business practices
*Decision Making*: To correctly handle, distribute, and record all financial source documentation.
*Relationship Development Requirements*: To help/assist wherever and whenever required.
*Leadership*: not applicable to this position
*Management*: not applicable to this position
*Client Service (Vendor & Government Relationships)*: interactions with clients, vendors, and government officials must be performed in a responsible and professional manner.
*Staff Service*: must be open and helpful to staff whenever they are in need of supporting information that the bookkeeper has access to and is capable of providing.
*Professional/Technical*: To keep current on processes that directly relate to the bookkeeper?s duties. The bookkeeper must be willing to acquire knowledge and experience of computer software or procedures whenever deemed to make the position more efficient.
*ENTRY REQUIREMENTS*
* Post-Secondary Business Diploma/Accounting or 5-8 years bookkeeping experience, extremely familiar with QuickBooks software, intermediate Microsoft Office Suite, Ceridian applications, and a high Internet literacy level including various social media tools and storage/share programs (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
