This role involves understanding of technical specifications, doing commercial negotiations from suppliers, ensuring quality product, coordination with Design, Manufacturing & Projects departments to understand Project?s requirement prior to Purchase order issuance and co-ordination with suppliers.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Handling complete supply chain which includes sending RFQ, Coordination with Engineering department for completing technical approval, commercial negotiation & delivery.</li><li>Procurement of Hydraulics related equipments & finished equipments based on detailed zero-based costing.</li><li>Coordination with QA for arranging in-process inspection & finished equipment inspection to ensure zero quality deviation.</li><li>Negotiate & maintain Annual rate contracts for various commodities to reduce overall procurement time.</li><li>Perform market research & develop new supplier to add quality capacity.</li><li>Managing internal and external Audit queries.</li><li>Prepare departmental MIS Reports.</li><li>Preparing sourcing strategies for Strategic categories of equipment to improve quality, delivery lead time and cost reduction and to mitigate supply chain risk.</li><li>On-time ordering considering manufacturing lead time.</li><li>On-time delivery of equipment to as per manufacturing schedule.</li></ul><p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>2++ years of experience in Purchasing.</li><li>Experience in purchasing Hydraulics & other finished equipments for Heavy Engineering/ Steel Industry /OEM is essential. Experience of working with Steel Industry OEM shall be preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Background, Skills and Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Experience of working for Heavy Engineering/ Steel Industry, preferably from Steel plant equipment OEM.</li><li>Strong negotiation skills along with the component cost calculations for better negotiation,</li><li>Have a good command over the trading rates/prices, should understand the project requirement in terms of budget, delivery, quality, etc.</li><li>Knowledge of Incoterms as well as Import procedures.</li><li>Experience in managing procurement activities including sourcing, contracting, supplier management, new supplier development, commercial negotiation.</li><li>Have hands on experience of SAP MM Module.</li><li>Good communication skills.</li><li>Good knowledge of MS Office, MS outlook.</li></ul>- LocationSaint-Laurent, QC
