<p>We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected will be contacted. <p> The Parkland School Division has openings for Casual Support Staff, we are currently accepting resumes only for casual Education Assistants. <p>Position Summary <p>Casual Education Assistants support our teachers in various educational settings by assisting our students who have a wide range of abilities and exceptionalities including; autism, significant emotional and behavioural challenges, mental health issues, learning difficulties and physical health concerns. Nature of Work <p>Casual: Hourly, on-call work up to 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday<p>Rate of Pay: $18.70 per hour Key Job Duties/ responsibilities : <p> support the instructional, behavioural and social needs of students in an increasingly complex environment <p> adapting or modifying classroom materials to meet the specialized needs of students<p> assisting students to acquire skills in the areas of communication and language development<p> facilitating and encouraging positive interactions between students, staff and the community <p> monitoring student conduct and intervening when students engage in challenging behaviours<p> supervise students during break periods, bus arrival and departure<p> ability to perform physical activities including lifting and student transfers (i.e. floor to chair, standing transfers as needed per weight of student)<p> to assist with personal care (i.e. toileting, feeding, dressing) <p>Education and Experience : <p> Experience working with children who demonstrate challenging behaviors and communication delays<p> Child and Youth Care Diploma or Certificate would be an asset<p> Education Assistant Diploma or Certificate would be an asset<p> Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate is an asset<p> Ability to work using a team approach in a complex environment is imperative<p> Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills<p>All successful applicants require an original copy of a current clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector and an original copy of a child intervention record check. <p>ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED THROUGH APPLY TO EDUCATION WILL BE ACCEPTED. <p>Applying to a job is a two-step process.
