MacMor Industries Ltd is looking for an experienced Purchaser to join our team.
A little about us is that we are a company that is celebrating our 100th anniversary this coming year, and we are ISO certified which means we say what we do and do what we say. We were founded in Winnipeg, Manitoba and are 100% Canadian owned. We are a distributor of Industrial, Safety and Rigging products and are a ?one-stop-shop? to the construction, agricultural, forestry, mining, oil and gas, utility, sheltered structures and transportation sectors.
The primary focus of the Purchaser is to develop and maintain new and existing supplier relationships to help drive profitable margins of MacMor Industries Ltd. products through attaining the best possible price for all product, materials and supplies. They will be required to ensure appropriate stock is ordered and turned based on needs of customers and seasonality of products. They assist the Purchasing Manager in analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine current and future availability of material.
*Some of the primary duties of this role are listed below:*
* Purchasing of all products, materials and supplies as assigned by the manager of purchasing
* Negotiating with suppliers to resolve problems on prices, deliveries and specifications
* Issuing, keying and printing of Purchase Orders as assigned
* Maintaining contact with suppliers and be able to utilize knowledge of the industry to build relationships with supplier to secure the best price
* Advising Receiving department via email of rush orders
* Maintaining promised dates on Purchase Orders so that past due dates are updated in a timely and accurate manner.
* Following up on non-stock inventory still in inventory to determine best method of disbursement.
* Assisting in maintaining a 95% fill rate on catalogue items
* Assisting in attaining and maintaining a target of 4+ inventory turns on in stock non-import inventory
* Assisting in maintaining current vendor pricing and literature (catalogues)
* Requesting Purchase Order confirmations and monitors their receipt
* Assisting in the investigation of Receiving Supplier Non-Conformances
* Assisting in the investigation of applicable QMS Events
* Working with vendors and Inside/Outside Sales regarding disbursement of aged inventory
* Assisting in monitoring non-stock inventory over 5 months old
* Maintains product knowledge of new product offerings from suppliers and able to compare value with existing products and changing needs of the customers to determine purchasing of inventory
* Completes operational requirements by maintaining a good working relationship with all employees and assisting in creating a positive work environment for all team members,
* Participates in required meetings offering suggestions for improvements or improved efficiencies and contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as required.
* Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques etc.
* Secondary Processing for assigned accounts
* May be required to perform other job-related activities as assigned
