Established in 1948, Bayview provides flowers and other floral products to some of the largest retailers across North America. Our head office is in Jordan Station in the Niagara Peninsula. Our company is growing and is looking to add a Greenhouse Production Planning Manager to our Greenhouse Production Team. This is an on-site position at our location in Jordan Ontario. As a Greenhouse Production Planning Manager your key responsibilities include:Planning, coordination, and monitoring of all programmed production scheduling for every crop grown in the Bayview Greenhouse facilities.Assess profitability of Sales opportunities relative to alternativesThe management of implementation and modification of programmed production schedules and the coordination of inter-departmental communications related to production planning and reports. Also detailed analysis of crop profitability and fit with our current crop mix.Source, purchase, administer and coordinate logistical requirements for all plant materials, cuttings, bulbs, seeds, and plants to meet production needs.Monitor and track crop quality, staging, timing and shrink.Coordinate, schedule and facilitate the Greenhouse Management meetings.Be a lead working with the CFIA for the Greenhouse division, ensuring CFIA compliance on crops coming in and that Greenhouse Managers have an updated plant list.Analyze data provided by Production Coordinator to make recommendations for adjustments to product mix, or identify areas for improvement.Recommend R&D projects for consideration under SREDParticipate in implementation of approved Greenhouse operations R&D projectsContribute in the implementation of special projects related to the Greenhouse operations.Working closely with the Greenhouse and Sales Management Teams Core Competencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and external suppliersPost-secondary education in business or horticultureExcellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook, database management)Strong greenhouse operational processes and production knowledgeExperience with MS Navision would be an asset Interested in joining our Team?
