Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Wet/damp. In/on water. Work setting: Fitness centre. Swimming pool/centre. Tasks: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques. Ensure safety of rescuers and victims at accident scenes. Assist with coordination of recreational, sport and fitness events . Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities. Prepare reports. Leading/instructing groups. Leading/instructing individuals. Provide lifestyle awareness information. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people. 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Red Cross Swimming Instructor/Life Saving Certificate. National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Security and safety: Enhanced reliability security clearance. Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Personal suitability: Accurate.
