Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly. Repair machine tools and parts. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Level five apprenticeship training. Measuring tools: Callipers. Calibre. Gauges. Equipment and machinery experience: Cylindrical grinders. Form cutting machines. Jig grinder. Planers. Surface grinders. Tool grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Gas compressors. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment.
