Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs. A University Placement and Guidance Counsellor is responsible for ensuring that all students in their alpha group receive course counselling, academic support, guidance counselling and University Placement assistance. Job Responsibilities: Academic course pathway counselling <p> Course of Study planning <p> Provide academic course pathway counselling and comprehensive information to students regarding post-secondary education planning, application and admissions to the universities or colleges in Canada, US, UK and other countries <p> Guide students along the path of university readiness and in selection of universities and programs, and provide advice and resources for research of the information <p> Liaise with university admissions to facilitate or intervene the admission process when necessary <p> Provide academic information and reference to OUAC and university or college admissions in support of student application <p> Conduct workshops and seminars alongside other UPO/Guidance counsellors to help students understand the admission requirements, application process and assist them in making the transition from high school to university studies <p> Meet with parents regarding academic concerns, course of study and university or college admissions and address their relevant concerns <p> Organize and assist in variety of events and activities (university fairs, visits and trips) to connect students with university admissions to learn about university studies and life <p> Other duties assigned by the Principal <p> Qualifications: Experience in a high school setting <p> Experience in counseling, mentoring and advising <p> Experience in working with students with diverse cultural backgrounds <p> Ability to multi-task in a high pressure role <p> Good team player <p> Excellent communication skills both verbal & written <p> Strong knowledge and skills in Word Perfect, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point), Social Media <p> Education: Undergraduate degree required <p> Hours of Work Regular business hours <p> Availability during occasional weekends <p> Ability to attend Post-Secondary Institution Fairs would be required <p> Columbia International College is committed to workplace diversity and provides accommodations, whenever possible, to applicants and employees with disabilities throughout our hiring and employment process.
