Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. At heights. Work setting: Structural steel plant. Platework fabrication plant. Sheet metal fabrication shop. Tasks: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Transport items throughout plant using powered equipment. Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually . Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers. Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials. Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools. Load and unload vehicle. Read and interpret work orders. Utilize hand and power tools. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Lifting device. Area of specialization: Welding. Rigging and handling. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
