Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Underground. Wet/damp. Work setting: Rural area. Various locations. Remote location. Willing to relocate. Relocation costs covered by employer. General office. Tasks: Assist in environmental audits. Conduct environmental audits. Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging or underground mine survey programs. Conduct or direct surveys or survey programs. Design measures to minimize undesirable environmental effects of mining and oil and gas operations. Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems. Prepare rock, mineral or metal samples. Perform physical and chemical laboratory tests. Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections. Assist in hydrogeological field and laboratory studies. Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS). MS Office. Field work location experience: On land. Technical experience: Mapping and surveying. Mineralogy techniques. Geotechnical studies. Area of work experience: Data interpretation and evaluation. Environmental monitoring. Field sampling and data acquisition. Geological mapping. Type of industry experience: Mineral resources and/or mining.
