Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Tasks: Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment. Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment. Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware. Repair or replace defective telephone equipment. Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity.
