Job details
Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Public or community health centre. Tasks: Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team. Coordinate patient care. Evaluate patient care and progress. Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care. Interpret medical test results . Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests. Perform diagnostic tests. Plan patient care. Provide end-of-life counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families. Advise patients on drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Ensure infection control. Support and facilitate the grieving process for the patient and their family. Care for, assess and monitor the health of newborns and refer infants to appropriate medical services as required. Advise patients on health care. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories. Provide health maintenance education. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner by the province/territory of work. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
